YELLOW

Last night, I saw the painted yellows come to life.
They danced in synchrony and they danced only with light.
As I passed them with each pedal, they turned into dark.
I wanted to look back but the colors ahead of me
Oh, they were much prettier in sight.
There was gold and there was white.
Pure but too bright.
I knew if I kept looking, I would only turn blind.
So I turned my head back, with each pedal, I held back.
And the darker became darkest, and my heart became jacked.
It was nine, ten, then midnight.
And finally, the colors, they were gone.
So I ran and I ran until my legs, they went numb.
See, the wheels they came off.
And the engine, it was cold.
Empty and uncontrolled.
So my feet, I told.
“Hurry on, hurry on,”
Before all that white turn to black.
And all the yellows, dropped.
Dancing, stopped.
And my heart, all jacked.
But the soles, they talked backed,
They said, “this skin is all cracked,”
Each step is a hurt and each pressed is a fall.
“Do you really wanna go?”
“Do you really wanna go?”
“If you feel what I feel, won’t you let me know?”
